ORGANIC AND FAIR TRADE SPICES FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
We supply a wide range of organic and fair trade certified spices. This includes popular spices such as ginger, turmeric, cloves, pepper and cinnamon.
From healthy herbs to trendy superfoods, we follow new developments very closely and continuously update our product range. One of our latest products is maca, a root from Latin America.
Thanks to our close relationship with our producers in the countries of origin, we are able to ensure full traceability of our products and also observe our customers’ strict quality requirements. This also applies to processed semi-finished products such as spices in powder form.

ORGANIC SPICES
Our spices are all cultivated in a controlled organic environment. No synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used, and this promotes local biodiversity and maintains soil fertility in the long term.
FAIR TRADE SPICES
It is extremely important to us that smallholders receive a fair price for their spices. Most spices originate from remote locations and are cultivated by farmers who have few opportunities to earn an income outside of agriculture. They often live below the poverty line.
Thanks to our support, smallholder organisations and therefore also their spices are fair trade and Fair for Life certified.
The higher minimum prices and fair trade premiums demonstrably improve the living conditions of smallholders. The premiums also enable community projects to be implemented, with investments being made in productivity and quality as well as for schools or to improve healthcare. The entire production chain is free from child labour. In 2024, we paid out 2’111’370 US dollars in fair trade premiums together with our customers. We supply the food industry and wholesalers with the following organic spices:
ORGANIC GINGER
Our ginger is cultivated by smallholder organisations in Madagascar and Peru. Ginger develops different flavours and levels of sharpness depending on where it is grown. According to the area of application, the root growth is cut into different lengths or is ground into powder and, if necessary, germ-reduced.

ORGANIC TURMERIC
Also called yellow ginger, turmeric is mainly known for its colour-giving properties in curry mixtures. But this isn’t all turmeric can do. The spice or specifically its curcumin content has a healing effect. A higher curcumin content is an important sign of quality. This content fluctuates greatly depending on the growing area and the variety. We can provide you with turmeric as a powder or in different cut sizes. If required, we can also apply germ reduction.

ORGANIC CINNAMON
Cinnamon originates from two different plants. The Ceylon cinnamon tree originally comes from Sri Lanka, while the Cassia cinnamon tree is widespread in Indonesia, China and Vietnam. The two cinnamon varieties not only differ in their flavour but also due to their contents. Compared to Cassia cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon has significantly lower coumarin values, which are harmful to the liver if too much is consumed. We distribute Ceylon cinnamon with low levels of coumarin from the Mitsinjo farmers’ cooperative, which cultivates the cinnamon trees in the mixed forests of Madagascar. Depending on its area of application, the cinnamon bark is cut in different lengths or is ground into powder and, if necessary, is germ-reduced.

ORGANIC CLOVES
Cloves come from the flower buds of the clove tree which are harvested before they flower and are then dried in the sun. We source our cloves directly from several smallholder organisations in north-east Madagascar. The island is the largest exporter of cloves in the world and has a wealth of experience in both cultivation and processing. Depending on the area of application, we provide our cloves hand-picked or ground into powder form as well as processed in a variety of cut sizes. We also offer clove stems for industrial applications.

ORGANIC MACA
The bulbous maca root was grown and used for medicinal purposes and as a foodstuff even back in the Inca period. Maca is particularly rich in nutrients and vital ingredients and is used for various ailments. Our maca is cultivated in the Andes in Peru at over 3,500 metres above sea level. We provide organic-certified maca in fine cuts for the tea industry.
