ORGANIC AND FAIR TRADE CHOCOLATE

When it comes to chocolate, we are real pioneers. It was 25 years ago that we launched the world’s first organic and Fairtrade certified chocolate. To this day, our chocolate is unique in combining the delicious flavour of premium-quality chocolate with confidence for consumers – confidence that only the finest organic ingredients have been used, with no additives. And also that the smallholders really profit directly from every chocolate product that is sold.

In our finest organic Swiss chocolate, we only use natural ingredients and do not use soya lecithin, choosing instead to replace the former with high-quality cocoa butter from our own exclusively organic cocoa processing facility. This ensures that our chocolate is non-GMO and stands out for its delicious flavour. Our Swiss premium chocolate exclusively contains SYRAMENA® cane sugar and SUCANAT® whole cane sugar instead of white sugar. The recipes are enriched with genuine Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar. Our exquisite creations are traditionally conched for up to 72 hours, giving the chocolate its smooth texture and full flavour.

All our chocolate bars and truffles are made in Switzerland and organic and Fairtrade certified.

Even regarding the packaging, we ensure that the environmental footprint of our chocolate products remains as low as possible: inside the recyclable paper packaging, each bar is also wrapped in a protective film made from organic, FSC certified wood. The transparent film preserves the flavour so that the chocolate stays fresh longer, and the organic film is 100% compostable.

Fairtrade chocolate

It is very important to us that the cocoa, sugar and vanilla smallholders receive a fair price for their produce. That is why we buy all the raw materials we use in our chocolate in accordance with fair trade guidelines.

Fairtrade premiums are an important additional source of income for smallholders. In addition, the cooperatives invest these funds into community projects in areas such as education and health or in the improvement of agricultural infrastructure. The entire production chain is free from child labour. In 2024, we paid out 2’111’370 US dollars in fair trade premiums together with our customers. Bean to bar chocolate

Since 2022, the cocoa mass and cocoa butter for our chocolate are produced in our own exclusively organic cocoa processing facility PRONATEC Swiss Cocoa Production in Northern Switzerland. This means that all steps from purchasing to fermentation and drying to processing the cocoa beans are in our hands.

PRIVATE LABEL CHOCOLATE

We have been supplying globally renowned customers with private label organic and fair trade chocolates for many years.

You too can choose your favourites from our extensive range and launch your own organic chocolate brand onto the market. Large runs are not necessary with existing recipes as we also offer attractive conditions for small quantities. In this way, you can launch your own brand from an order quantity of just 100 kg per recipe.

We would be delighted to support you with new chocolate creations, taking current trends into account. In recent years, we have helped our clients create reduced-sugar, sugar-free and vegan organic chocolate. We are also here to help you with all matters relating to registration, transport, customs clearance as well as importing and exporting the organic and fair trade chocolate.

AMARRÚ

Our own chocolate brand, AMARRÚ, takes its name from the rainbow god of the Inca people. The rainbow connects the smallholder families in the countries of origin with chocolate-lovers around the world.

The fact that the cocoa beans are processed at our own Swiss cocoa processing plant, and that we carefully process only organic and fair trade ingredients, makes AMARRÚ the Swiss chocolate par excellence, because most of the value creation happens in Switzerland.

Although AMARRÙ Cacao Intense 92% has a very high content of cocoa, the creation convinces with a round, pleasantly strong flavour profile and a tender melt.

COCOA, SUGAR AND VANILLA DIRECTLY FROM SMALLHOLDERS

Wherever possible, we buy raw materials for our chocolate directly from smallholder organisations and not from intermediaries.

The cocoa in our organic and fair trade chocolate comes from the Dominican Republic, Peru, Panama and Madagascar. We source the sugar from farming organisations in Paraguay and Costa Rica and the Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar.

Our customers also benefit from our direct contact with producers in the growing regions. This means we can provide information and pictures about the work of smallholders, quality assurance and fair trade projects.
